Landmark Consulting worked with the property owners of this 1920s home in uptown Albany to guide the front porch repair/restoration and to determine a paint scheme for the exterior of the house. The original front porch was exhibiting extensive wood decay and settlement and required thoughtful repairs that involved the rebuilding of the front steps, the porch walls and column piers. The project also was expanded to consider appropriate drainage for the porch and ultimately a revised paint scheme to be applied to the full exterior of the house upon completion of the front porch. Landmark Consulting developed a couple of porch designs in consultation with the homeowners, then upon a final scheme produced detailed construction drawings for obtaining building permits and for generating contractor estimates. Landmark Consulting worked with the owners and contractors throughout the construction on the porch as well as providing technical advice related to the painting project
